DS Cut File - Wallet Card

I made this card this my daddy for Father's Day. Sadly, I lost my daddy on September 22. Daddy used to love to come over and see what my latest projects were. As I post this cut files through tears, I know daddy would be happy that I shared with you.

I was inspired through this video on You Tube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=0CJ3MuD9UZ8&feature=related.

I always seem to have a hard time finding masculine cards and I thought this one could be used for graduation, birthdays, etc. I used Design Studio to create the Cut file. To make the card I used brown DCWV 12 x 12 cardstock, Score-Pal to score the card for folding, Cuttlebug and Tiny Mosiac folder to emboss, inked and then glued together. The file has been created to work on 6 x 12 mat with individual cuts and added a full page of cuts using George 12 x 12 and Plantin 12 x 12.

Thanks for this great card. I'm going to try to get one made for my Dad this year. I hope to add individual "cards" from my kids to the wallet slots with their own personal message. It'll be full of love that way.

Love the card! :) Thanks for the nice comments on my blog. Your cut files are awesome...wish I had George! :) What type of glue did you use? I used ATG, and it seems to come unglued. Any suggestions?

I've been asked what type of glue I used on the wallet card. I used the Red Tape you can buy at Walmart. It holds very, very well. I tried the ATG gun and it did not stay glued for long.

brenda, i was looking for a gift card holder when i found this post, i was reading it through tears. i lost my dad in august of this year, he died in his sleep while i was visiting.
just as your dad enjoyed seeing your creations, my dad would cut pictures from ads, save greeting cards and ribbon for me to create things with. i will remember him for many different reasons but you once again reminded me of the support that a parent gives, is a treasure.

sorry to go on but the words just came to me as i imagined your grief.
you are talented and your dad looking down would agree.
hugs and kind thoughts
